How Can a Virus or Viral Outbreak be Contained?
Virus or viral outbreaks can be contained. If someone in the premises has tested positive for a virus or indeed if there is a suspicion of viral outbreak then our fully trained technical team are definitely here to help no matter how large or small the incident may be.
Containment is necessary to stop the further spread of any viral outbreak and this is definitely not a job for the usual contract cleaners who may have no experience of this type of issue. We have been able to introduce a set of mitigation and safety standards/ protocols that can be implemented quickly and scaled up or down as befits the situation.
What Does the on-site Viral Containment team do?
The first step we take is to make sure that all of the team attending the site seal themselves into type 5b/6b protective overalls before even entering any affected area. This gives everyone the reassurance that the best possible protection is being given to everyone concerned.
The next step is the use of gloves as well as specialist overshoes which are used in conjunction with face masks equipped with ABEK1 filters or PAPR powered respiratory headgear. ABEK filters give effective protection and filter out both organic as well as inorganic vapours present in the area where the team will be working.
In stark contrast with other so called professional decontamination services, we also make certain that we use walk through baths to coat overshoes. The bath contains the same anti-microbial solution used to ultimately decontaminate and make safe the environment concerned. On exit, we make certain to spray down the team to further reduce the risk of contamination when leaving affected areas.
In situations when viral contamination is substantial, additional containment measures may be implemented. Of course, we discuss these in full with you at the time so that you are fully informed regarding processes being implemented on your processes.
Setting up a “Clean Room”
If the setting up of a clean room is needed then this involves the introduction of negative air pressure systems. Having tented off the area utilising polythene sheeting, the negative air pressure is used to cycle air through the affected and contained area, This ducted air is passed through HEPA rated filtration systems. The final piece of the puzzle is that units situated outside the affected or containment area pull the air through the tented area, cleaning the air through yet another set of HEPA filters and effectively conducting an air change.
This gives our customers the necessary assurance as well as peace of mind that comes from knowing that their choice of contractor will leave their premises clean and more importantly clear of any risk of infection from viruses.
