Crime Scene Cleaning Services
The nature of crime scene cleaning requires trained, discreet and professional technicians to sanitize and thoroughly decontaminate areas where a crime has taken place and as a result, bodily fluid and other types of potentially hazardous substances have been dispersed.
Expert Crime Scene Cleaning
Germsfree provides a routine, record of training matrix for our technicians which is explicitly related to the trauma and crime scene cleaning sector of the cleaning industry. The essence of this is to always ensure our operatives are trained with up-to-date cleaning methods which enable them to keep themselves and others safe throughout the process and to satisfy the safe restoral of an environment where a crime or trauma has taken place.
It is well believed to the wider public that crime scene cleaners or forensic cleaners undertake the investigative measures required in order of extracting key DNA and other evidence from the crime scene which contributes towards the discovery of the perpetrator. This is not true, however, crime scene and forensic cleaners are essential cleaning operatives who ensure the clean-up process undergoes a smooth transition from the investigating authorities, such as the Police- to the cleaning technicians who are employed to be responsible for the clean-up process. Usually, it is the landlords, housing authorities and company owners of the building premises, house or family of the deceased who are advised by the Police to employ such services to ensure the area is thoroughly decontaminated. Another very important aspect of crime scene cleaning is to ensure that those who are left to deal with the aftermath of the clean-up process experience as little trauma as is necessary.
How we ensure the area is made safe and free from bodily fluids or hazardous materials…
- Our technicians are trained to always take the first prep steps to apply full PPE such as; overalls, gloves, boots/wellies, (goggles) and facemasks.
- Dispose of hazardous waste into yellow hazardous bags/clinical waste bags to ensure cross-contamination of hazardous and non-hazardous waste does not take place.
- Practice cross-contamination cleaning methods throughout the premises to ensure bodily fluids are not contaminated onto clean surfaces. We do this with the help of blue rolls and dispose of them accordingly. We do not use dirty terry towels or the same towelling to clean areas that have not been contaminated.
- Upon request, at an additional cost, we can provide bio-fogging where decomposition has taken place or at the request of the client or family member. With the additional bio-fogging mist applied within the crime scene, it can aid and enhance the disinfection clean-up, simply because of the chemical composition which we utilise within the bio fogging machine that has been designed to eliminate hazardous organisms on contact. It reaches further and wider surface areas that may have otherwise been missed, and that is due to the mists ability to stick to surfaces that are higher and often more intricate such as; grooves, which are often very difficult and time consuming to adequately disinfect.
- If decomposition has occurred, we can also provide additional anti-pest solvents such as a pesticide which are applied in the area the crime had occurred and eliminate blue flies.
- Upon request, Germsfree will remove all hazardous waste products off-site which and safely dispose at an additional cost and ensure it is safely disposed at an incineration waste transfer centre.
