Plastic Enclosure Drying Services

If flooding or water damage has only affected an area that can reasonable be fully enclosed then the whole area can be wrapped in a plastic enclosure which can speed up the drying out process immeasurably. Dehumidifying equipment works more effectively in smaller, more enclosed areas so wrapping an affected area in plastic sheeting effectively isolated the area and minimises the possibility of moisture entering the space in the form of water vapour or moisture from adjoining areas.

Dry air from an industrial dehumidifier is blown underneath the plastic sheeting. This creates an extremely dry and highly localised “climate” so the affected area dries out much more quickly. The whole process can be sped up even further using heat as the warmer that the materials being dried are then the faster the water will evaporate and the drying process is sped up substantially.

In small, tight areas, this process is very effective as the full capacity of the humidifier is used and in many cases, less units need to be used which can drive down costs as fewer units are needed to dry out the same area.
