Public Sector Waste Collection Services
The public sector is no different when it comes to the creation and management of waste than any other place of work. People create waste wherever they work, be that in the DVLA, a Government Department or a Local Council. It is fair to say that people who work in local government have a better understanding of the impact of waste on the environment and certainly take a lead in waste management.
We work hand in glove with public sector bodies large and small to provide waste management services that are effective, efficient, reliable and provide value for money for the taxpayer.
Service, Service, Service!
We fully understand that our service is a reflection of your organisation. You can be sure that each and every member of our team understands that service is vital to success. We recommend the creation of detailed Service Level Agreements so that everyone understands what is expected of them and the timescales, standards and measurement of accurate service delivery is transparent. We work with stakeholders at every level to maintain and improve our service. We aim to operate at 99% or better service success and are proud to be held accountable for this.
We are a Licenced waste carrier and will never cut corners. We fully understand our responsibilities and we will never compromise our standards for any reason. In particular, the Health and Safety of our team is paramount. This extends to our customers and contractors and so we expect everyone to take their Health and Safety responsibilities seriously and will challenge unsafe behaviour and practices in the most appropriate manner.
Contracts, Purchase Orders and Approved Supplier Status
We understand that you need to vet and approve suppliers to organisations that service the public sector. We have documentation, accreditations and certifications that will almost certainly help in this process. If you wish to engage on a contractual or ad-hoc basis then we are happy to help. If your systems and procedures necessitate purchase order creation, authority and approval then we understand and have the necessary expertise and administrative backup to be able to facilitate doing business through almost any method that suits your needs. For example if your department used outside agencies such as ours on an approved supplier basis then we are more than happy to go through the process and if necessary will gain further accreditation.
Recycling First!
Waste disposal is the last resort as far as we are concerned. We believe that public sector organisations operations are in a unique position to lead the way with recycling and we are happy to be able to offer our services in an educational capacity as well as a practical way. We have the capacity to sort recycling in the most effective manner and have contracts and contacts at major public as well as commercial waste handling facilities.
If it can be recycled, we will recycle it. If it can be reused or repurposed, then we’ll point you in the right direction or deal with it ourselves. Our aim is zero waste to landfill and we’ll help you to reach your sustainability goals in the process.
If you have a one-off or more regular need to remove waste, please get in touch. Call us on 08009991500 or email info@germsfreeltd.co.uk with some photographs of the materials in question and we’ll be delighted to help. We operate across the whole of the UK and are sure to have someone available to remove your waste ethically and legally.
Transfer of Waste
When we pick up your waste, you are transferring the responsibility for that waste to us. The process of transferring waste necessitates the use of waste transfer notes. A waste transfer note (WTN) is a document that records and details the transfer of waste from one person to another. You must make certain that every load of waste you receive or pass to others is covered by a WTN. Our waste team will be sure to guide you through the process and can help you with setting up the appropriate systems and administration.
